Running Man, twig sculpture

Running Man, twig sculpture

The trees, rocks, and creatures native to my New England home inform my work. They are the inspiration for these sculptures. The rhythm of forms and the contrasting textures found in these natural materials seem to me to echo those shapes found on our bodies and in our bones.

In studying the wood, branches, stones and pebbles, new forms suggest themselves. Often, it is as if the particular fragment has been awaiting transformation. It is my privilege to share these resulting artworks with you.

“The gentle curves and twists of found branches suggest to me the turn of forms found in the bones of our own bodies.”
